The renowned Ritz Carlton hotel brand is making a grand comeback to Cancun. At a press conference held on October 10, 2024, Brian King, CEO of the hotel group, announced the upcoming construction of The Ritz Carlton Cancun Punta Nizuc, slated to open in January 2027.
Located in the exclusive Punta Nizuc area near the Cancun Airport, known for its pristine sandy beaches, lush mangroves, and natural beauty, the new Ritz Carlton hotel promises to offer an unparalleled luxury experience. The location is a prime spot just 15 minutes from Cancun International Airport, making it convenient for international travelers.
The Ritz Carlton: A Luxury Experience
The hotel will feature 131 luxurious rooms and 126 oceanfront residential complexes, complete with first-class amenities. Guests and residents can enjoy spas, a selection of six gourmet restaurants, and other high-end facilities. This project is being developed with the backing of major players in the hospitality industry, including Marriott International, FibraHotel, Fibra Danhos, and Beyond Ventures.
Economic Impact on Cancun
The governor of Quintana Roo applauded the project, highlighting its $400 million investment and its potential to boost Cancun’s economy. The construction will generate around 2,000 jobs, with 700 permanent positions once the hotel is operational.
