As you probably know, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is expanding the requirement for a negative COVID-19 test to all air passengers entering the United States. According to the order, this will be effective on january 26th, 2021. What to do if you travel after that date?

While in Mexico, the first thing you need to do is contact your hotel concierge or desk clerk in order to know what options you have to take the test. There are several qualified laboratories to make the COVID-19: molecular tests (which include P.C.R. tests) or antigen tests, those are the ones required for travelers.
There are laboratories available in Cancun, Puerto Morelos, Playa del Carmen, Cozumel and Tulum. They have different prices and result delivery times, some of them will give you the result the same day, others 12 to 24 hours and some up to 4 days. That is the reason because you need to contact the hotel staff to find out if they a have an agreement with a laboratory for their guests take the test. Also for an additional charge, some laboratories could send to their staff to your hotel to take the test, so the guest would not have to go to the laboratory location. We could not publish the prices of the test since they could change it without a previous notice.
As soon as we have new information, we will post it in this blog. We have a closed relationship with travel-related associations that are always seeking for the best interest of our visitors.
